Savor the bold flavors of a Philly Cheese Sandwich featuring B Strong Beef Style Cubes, cooked to perfection with peppers, onions, and melted cheese, creating a hearty and plant-based twist on the classic Philadelphia favorite.

  • 4 Sourdough buns
  • 2 tbps softened butter
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • ½ medium Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 Cheese slices
  • Vegetable Oil, as required
  • Black pepper & Salt, to taste
  • Mayonnaise to taste
  • 100g Hydrated B Strong Beef Style Cubes

Instructions

Step 1

Stir 2 tablespoons softened butter with 1 pressed garlic clove in small bowl.

Step 2

Spread garlic butter onto cut sides of sourdough bun.

Step 3

Toast buns on large skillet or griddle over medium heat until golden brown. Set aside.

Step 4

Add 1 tablespoon oil to the pan and sauté sliced onions until caramelized. Transfer to bowl.

Step 5

Add 1 tablespoon oil to pan. Batch cook proteins, tossing frequently until browned. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 6

Remove pan from heat, divide proteins into 4 even portions.

Step 7

Top each portion with 2 slices of cheese, melt the cheese onto each portion while warm.

Step 8

Combine cooked proteins and layer caramelized onions on top.

Step 9

Spread thin layer of mayonnaise on toasted side (top) of bun.

Step 10

Working with one portion at a time, place toasted bun (base) over each portion. Use spatula to scrape the cheesy protein mixture onto bun base as you flip it over.  

Step 11

Add top of bun and serve.
